  • Nonprofit boards notoriously find it challenging to raise enough money for their organization consistently. Sometimes, board members need training; other times, they need confidence, but usually, they will benefit from great tools.

  • My board fundraising worksheet uses human psychology to get your board to participate. A blank sheet of paper is scary, but when you have a list of concrete tasks to choose from, boards are far more likely to engage.

  • Boards sometimes work best with a little peer pressure. By having every board member fill out their board fundraising worksheet at the same time and hand it to the chair or the Executive Director, you will get a level of commitment you weren’t getting before.

  • Your organization needs this tool because it works, and although it is completed for you, you can customize it for your unique situation. Boards always struggle to raise money. This tool helps you overcome that fast.

  • There are numerous tools that help boards (Board agreements, development plans, “give or get” policies, training, development committees, and this fundraising worksheet, to name a few). Taken together, these tools propel you to success.

  • First, get each board member of the board to commit to raising a certain amount annually. Then, hand them this tool to fill out and submit. The staff, the development committee, or the chair can then help them implement the worksheet.

  • I knew we made the right choice with Sean when I asked him how we can increase our board member giving and he sent me his board member fundraising worksheet. Using this tool, we have been able to quadruple our board fundraising goals.

    Jack Beck, Executive Director TurnOUT

  • "Sean Kosofsky’s lecture on the basics of fundraising was incredibly informative. Not only did he touch on tried-and-true methods, Sean also discussed new platforms that organizations can leverage to increase participation in their campaigns."

Timos Pietris, Office of President , Long Island Univ.

  • "Fundraising is based on making sure you understand the big picture and then get some small details right. It is also based on not being afraid to make an “ask”. Sean Kosofsky’s book is a great refresher on tools to raise money. I would recommend it to all non-profits."
